Chet H. Olsen began his legal career with Baker & McKenzie where he spent five years in the firm’s Los Angeles and Tokyo offices practicing primarily in the areas of corporate transactions and project finance. He also served as general counsel to an information technology company and as in-house counsel to the Bank of Tokyo, now Bank of Tokyo - Mitsubishi.
Chet Olsen has extensive experience representing the owners and operators of restaurant groups, including Nobu Matsuhisa, the An Family (owners and operators of the AN / Crustacean group of restaurants) the Food Art Group (Sona, Comme Ca and Pizzeria Ortica), Ford’s Filling Station, the Novel Café group of restaurants, Opus, Maxwellís, Ship's Coffee Shops and numerous franchisees and franchisors.
Before completing law school, Mr. Olsen spent five years working in the California Legislature as Chief of Staff to the Speaker Pro Tempore of the California State Assembly. Mr. Olsen completed his J.D. from the McGeorge School of Law while serving in the California Legislature. He earned a Masters degree from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
